My Mother was a skilled weaver. As was my grandmother and my other grandmothers before her. As they weaved they told stories to pass the time and also for the young ones to learn those stories so they could be passed down. The grasses had to be picked at the right time of the year and they were also mindful of how much vegetation was taken from that area. It was then tied up in bundles and carried back home, where it was then processed ready for weaving.
