Tanya Van Horen is an early career artist based in Umoona Community in Coober Pedy. Tanya was born in Port Augusta in 1975 and is a Yankunyjtjara and Pitjantjatjara woman. Her home is Coober Pedy and she traces her family connection to the town back past eight generations. Tanya is an advocate for the Umoona and Coober Pedy communities and holds a respected leadership position within communities. In her paintings, Tanya depicts the colours of the Coober Pedy landscape and surrounding desert as well as the rock formations and imagery of her Country.
